A Conversation with Candle Face’s Confidante

November 25, 2023

Tomorrow looks like it could be an interesting day for an interview. Earlier today, I received an email from someone claiming to have information about Candle Face, the infamous ghost said to haunt the Austin area. He didn’t offer much detail, but he seemed eager to speak with me.

The sender, who calls himself “Mr. Smoe,” insists that Candle Face helps people find “peace.” I’m struggling to reconcile this idea with what I’ve learned so far. How could a ghost that haunts—and reportedly kills—people be associated with peace? This perspective runs counter to the messages I’ve received from the spirits who’ve contacted me. Still, I’m keeping an open mind. It’s possible there’s more to Candle Face’s story than I understand.

Mr. Smoe has agreed to let me record our conversation on video, which will help ensure an accurate account of everything he shares. Once I have the transcript, I’ll make it available.

I’m curious—and admittedly cautious—to see what tomorrow brings.
